How long does the process take?

It depends on whether we are copying a single image or whether you would like us to combine a number of images. Orders placed over the phone or through the web site, will usually be sent to you within seven working days.

All you do is send us the image, the text and select from our typeface styles and we'll do the rest.

What type of photographs can be engraved?

Pets in Peace can take any image up to A4 size. Drawings, colour or black and white photographs are suitable as long as they are of a high quality. The photograph is scanned to a computer then converted on screen to black and white to ensure a high quality, high contrast image ready for the laser etching.

Remember, the better the image, the better the result.

Can I use digital photographs?

Digital photographs are fine but they must be saved as JPG and be a minimum of 200dpi.

What type of graphical enhancements will be made to the photographs before the etching procedure?

Dirt and scratches will be removed from the photographs. The image may be cropped and two or more people may be joined from different photographs to create one image engraved onto the material.

What if I only want certain people in my etching?

We can remove people from photographs but that's the only 'cosmetic surgery' we perform.

What happens to the photograph during the process?

Computer graphical images are made from the scanned images and not the original. The original photograph will be returned to you.

Steps to ordering

1. Select a photo or image. For digital images, select a high resolution (200dpi) image. Images sourced from the internet are low resolution and unsuitable. If these are not your personal photographs, they may be subject to copyright. (Remember: the better the photo, the better the result).
2. Select the preferred size and material for your plaque.
3. Supply us with your words and tell us how you would like them positioned on the plaque and then select from one of our size special typefaces. Up to 20 words is included. Over 20 words is an additional $5 per 10 words or part thereof.
4. Post your photographs to Pets in Peace, Shop 1/10 Kenrose Street, Carina QLD 4152 or email a high resolution (200dpi) image to us. Processing times may vary but allow for up to 7 working days from receipt of the order.
