Pets in Peace was the first pet crematorium in Australia to receive accreditation with the International Association of Pet Cemeteries and Crematories (IAOPCC).
All of our staff are formally trained under the IAOPCC’s training program.
Currently, there are no formal standards or regulations to guide the work undertaken in Australian pet crematoriums. At Pets in Peace, we aim to set the standards for pet cremation in Australia. We have adopted the Cremations Act 2003, which governs human cremation, to self-regulate our pet cremation process.
We license all of our cremators as human cremators and uphold the required standards of maintenance and environmental management. We also use an integrated tracking system for all animals in our care, based on the American Vet Portal model. This system ensures a high-level of accountability, so we know where a pet is at every stage of the process. We also use CCTV monitors in all of our rooms to monitor activity.
