Buster Boy
Our gorgeous Buster Boy………
I remember the first day you came home 16 years ago at just 5 weeks old.
You were so adorable and you looked up at me with so much love and what I thought looked like hope it melted my heart.
From that day our bond grew stronger and stronger and as our family grew your love and devotion shined through to everyone.
You used to be such an active boy, running around like a crazy thing and even trying to round up our pet sheep we had back on the farm. You would even sleep with our horse nestling his head in your lap.
One time I will always remember is the day you broke out of the back yard and ate all of the chickens from next doors coop! Oh my gosh that was a sight! I drove home and all I could see was white feathers EVERYWHERE!
And you greeted us with the biggest smile on your face! The neighbour wasn’t too happy at all………
You would get so excited every time we came outside and would run around and around in the backyard as fast as you could then stopping suddenly in front of us only to run off again which turned into a game we played almost every day.
Over the last few months I have been watching you and could see your body was failing but that sparkle in your eyes and that look on your face when the kids played with you or we started talking to you, you would get this kind of determination happening and you would try to start running around again playing but very soon after you would tire and need a rest and I could see your time was near.
I tried to get myself ready for the day that I would have to say goodbye but when it finally came it still hit me so hard I didn’t want to let you go. I struggled so much but knew it was time and the day before we said our goodbyes
even your demeanour changed and I really think you knew it was your time too and you had accepted it.
My heart has broken now that you have gone and a piece of me is missing which will never ever be replaced
but I know that now you are without pain and I am sure you are here with us in spirit and are keeping watch over your family.
Buster Boy you were our bestest friend in the whole world and we love you to the moon and back,
you will be forever etched in our hearts and never ever far from our thoughts.
We will always love you………………….
